Standard: This saddle will suit the majority of riders and horses. While we call this Parelli standard, it is approx. seven times wider than most English saddle gullets described as “wide”. It is already constructed in a way to improve your horse’s ability to use his back.
Super Wide: This saddle is just how it sounds, SUPER wide through the gullet. It is especially suited to big, wide horses such as some warmbloods and draft crosses, as well as very wide and heavily muscled smaller horses. We have discovered that many broad Quarter horses, Icelandic horses, wide rib-sprung Arabians, Cobs and many others love the super wide.
NB. It is important to make certain that any Parelli saddle is shimmed properly when trying them. Please see this webpage (half way down the page) for shimming help.

Saddle test ride
With the support of Parelli Saddles, we are able to offer students in the UK the opportunity to try out these saddles with their own horse. Students are required to complete and return a Test Ride Agreement, before arranging collection and return of the saddle within 7 days. There is no charge for this service, all the student will need to pay are the courier charges.

Parelli equipment
Parelli Natural Horsemanship equipment is simple, kind and effective. Designed by Pat Parelli, it is made from a certain gauge of smooth, soft yet strong yachting braid and natural leathers to improve quality, effectiveness and sensitivity of communication.
A basic equipment kit of a Natural Halter, 12ft Line, Carrot Stick and Savvy String is all that is needed to get started in the program. I tried the saddles and I did buy one. Alison was really helpful and even videoed us in each saddle. As a result, I bought a super wide. Both my horses love it. Shaun has been able to maintain gait easier and Taz (RBI) has been blowing while I ride him, which I don’t think he ever did before. He used to blow afterwards when we’d finished!

I did test ride a western saddle and loved it. I have not bought one as I would like to try the cruiser and may be buy that in April. I found the western saddle very heavy and hope that the cruiser would give the security of the western without the weight and the complications of the western cinch.
